Counter-Extremism Interventions in Nigeria – Muslim Scholars against Jihadist Violence
Abstract
This interdisciplinary study evaluates how Muslim scholars optimize state-led P/CVE frameworks in Nigeria. Integrating Security Studies with Islamic Studies, the article analyzes primary empirical data across four operational axes: strategic consultation, backchannel mediation, counter-narrative dissemination, and restorative rehabilitation. The findings validate that clerical authority provides a critical non-kinetic mechanism for countering radicalization.
