Confronting the “Octopus of Evil”: Ḥūthī Propaganda and Middle Eastern Antisemitism
Abstract
At today’s critical juncture for Middle Eastern Studies and Antisemitism Studies, this paper points to the propaganda of Yemen’s Ḥūthīs as a source for better understanding antisemitism in the contemporary Middle East. Unlike Ḥamās and other members of the “Axis of Resistance,” the Ḥūthīs have neglected to clean up their international media profile. This makes their published works especially useful for gaining insight into the often-disguised antisemitism at the heart of “Axis of Resistance” ideology.
