Shifting Threats: Israel and Iran in Arab Media - 2011–2026
Abstract
Analyzing Arab media discourse (2011–mid-2026), this study traces a pivotal geopolitical shift: the "Shi'ite Crescent" narrative has diminished, while depictions of Israel have evolved from an internally fragile entity into a dominant regional threat. Ultimately, this study serves as a prominent case study demonstrating how the analysis of media discourse enhances a deep understanding of historical events and regional developments, as well as the strategic leverage involved.
